Summer is almost here! So let's dive into some ways you can feel on track with your fitness and nutrition goals over the warm season.

As the warmer months are almost here, I thought it was the perfect time to talk about preparing yourself for a successful summer that allows you to enjoy the sunshine while still making waves toward your goals (no pun intended!).
Now is a great time to revisit your goals and think about what you want to achieve this summer. Whether it is losing weight, building muscle, or simply just staying active as the weather warms up and social commitments become more frequent. Keep your goals realistic to help you stay motivated.
As the days get longer in the warmer months, it is a good opportunity to make the most of the light outdoors. Maybe consider an evening walk or other outdoor activities like cycling or hiking.
Along with the beautiful sunny days, summer also brings lots of in-season fresh fruit and vegetables. Try to incorporate seasonal produce into your meals for wonderful summer flavours and essential nutrients. Some summer fruits include mangoes, peaches, nectarines, cherries, watermelons, and strawberries. Some summer vegetables include avocado. cucumber, beetroot, capsicum, zucchini, and celery.
As the temperature rises, you need to ensure you drink enough water daily to maintain adequate hydration and optimal health. The amount you should be drinking daily will depend on your body size, metabolism, the weather, the food you eat and your activity level. For most people, you should be drinking at least 2-3 litres per day.
With increased activity during the warmer months, ensure you are also adequately recovering and listening to your body to avoid burnout. This means making sure you incorporate rest days, active recovery, and general self-care.
Summer is such a glorious time of the year, so make sure you enjoy every moment of the season. Explore new hobbies and activities, and maybe try something a little different and creative to get your movement up. You could even set up a mini fitness challenge with some friends to keep each other motivated throughout the warmer months. Summer is all about having fun and keeping movement up.
Stay safe and enjoy the upcoming summer!
